About the Firm
​​The Watkins Legal Firm is a full-service boutique law firm focusing on personal injury, tax law, real estate and general civil litigation. Our Attorney, Limisha A. Watkins is the founder and sole member of the firm. Limisha brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in real estate, taxation, and general civil law.
Prior to establishing The Watkins Legal Firm, Limisha, a Toledo, Ohio native, maintained a license with the Georgia Real Estate Commission for over 17 years, primarily selling bank-owned properties, before returning home to the Midwest to attend law school. While in Georgia, Limisha clerked for The Baig Firm between the years of 2011 and 2017, conducting extensive legal research and drafting legal pleadings for complex civil and personal injury cases. Prior to this clerkship, Limisha worked for other law firms in the Atlanta area.

Limisha graduated from Clark Atlanta University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a concentration in pre-law. In 2018, she earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Western Michigan University, Cooley Law School. Limisha also holds a Paralegal Certification from Georgia State University, and a Mediation Certification from her law school alma mater, and sat on Michigan's 30th Judicial Circuit Court Mediation Roster as a Certified Mediator.
During her law school career, Limisha completed a diverse range of legal work for some of the most well known corporations in the Nation including, Hire Counsel, the in-house legal department of Sparrow Health System, and the corporate office of Enterprise Holdings.
Limisha also worked as a Tax Research Analyst for H&R Block’s Tax Institute, where she resolved approximately three hundred in-house tax cases per season. Before leaving the Institute, Limisha was promoted to Senior Analyst, and was recognized several times for her contributions to the company.
Since establishing the Watkins Legal Firm, Limisha has covered hundreds of civil cases before the Lake County Circuit Court of Illinois, the Cook County Chancery Court, the Kankakee County Court, the Monroe County Circuit Court, the Bridgeview District Court, the DuPage County 18th Judicial Circuit Court, and Cook County Circuit Court's 1st Municipal District, 3rd Municipal District and 6th Municipal District.
Additionally, Limisha has litigated before the American Arbitration Association, the Michigan Tax Tribunal, the 54A District Court of Michigan, the 30th Circuit Court of Michigan, and the Michigan Court of Appeals. Limisha also worked as a Ghost Writer for a 25+ year Veteran Attorney in the Greater Chicago area. In addition to litigation, through E-Discovery, Limisha has worked on a vast array of civil matters, including Class Actions, Antitrust, and Multidistrict Litigation matters, and matters involving some of America's largest Corporations including, Twitter, Google, Pfizer, Apple, Samsung, and Bloomberg.

In 2023, Limisha's Borrower Defense case against Keller Graduate School of Management was approved by the United States Department of Education, under Sweet v. Cardona, et al. (N.D. Fun Legal Fact: Over 20 years ago, at the early beginning of her legal career, Limisha worked as a Bankruptcy Paralegal for The King & King Bankruptcy Law Firm, located downtown Atlanta, Georgia, owned by two unnamed Plaintiffs in the Landmark U.S. Supreme Court case, Roe v. Wade, Mr. David King and Mrs. Marsha King, also attorneys.
